Research Associate, Molecular Biology

We are seeking a Research Associate, Molecular Biology to be part of the team that generates and characterizes new strains of OmniChickens expressing human antibodies and other novel antigen-binding scaffolds. This role will include cloning and expression of recombinant antibodies, analysis of immunoglobulins by Western blot and ELISA, cloning DNA constructs, immunophenotyping of animals by flow cytometry, and genotyping of animals. You will work with scientists on antibody discovery campaigns to characterize immune responses in animals. This position reports to our Senior Director, Molecular Biology.

Responsibilities

• Assess B cell development in OmniChickens by flow cytometry.
• Clone, express and test recombinant antibodies.
• Perform PCR to produce NGS libraries for repertoire analysis.
• Assist in antibody discovery campaigns: test immune responses by ELISA and perform single B cell screening to identify binders.
• Help maintain communal areas of the lab.
• Keep accurate and complete notebook entries.
• Clone other constructs as needed.
• Present at group scientific updates.
• Genotype animals by qPCR.
• Attend conferences.
• Other duties as required.
• Perform PCR from single B cells to amplify V regions.

Requirements

• Effective communication, record-keeping and organization skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience in an academic or industry setting.
• Eagerness to learn new methods and apply knowledge to a steady stream of new projects with distinct goals.
• Bachelor's degree in molecular biology or another relevant field.

Base Pay Range: $60,800 - $76,000/year

The pay range provided is an estimated base range for this role. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, education, and location.
