The Position

The successful candidate will work in an interdisciplinary discovery team focusing on molecular and cellular pharmacology. She/He will be an innovative leading scientist with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, design and carry out experiments and propose creative solutions to challenging problems.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute in vitro and in vivo studies to facilitate drug discovery and platform development in various disease areas
• Maintain a high level of productivity in the lab and perform critical experiments
• Develop, validate, and perform assays to characterize ligand-receptor interactions and to gain mechanistic understanding of drug delivery
• Present research findings to project teams and governance bodies and prepare study reports
• Guide junior scientists on the team

Requirements

• Track record of guiding junior team members
• PhD in biology, bioengineering, biochemistry, or a related field with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry
• Expertise in developing endpoint & kinetic assays, such as luminescence & fluorescence assays, activity assays, imaging-based assays
• Strong background in characterization of ligand-receptor interactions using molecular, cellular, and biochemical approaches
• Proven scientific accomplishments including publications, conference presentations or patents
• Hands-on experience with cell culture and FACS cell sorting
• Experienced in RNA isolation, real-time PCR, RNA-seq
• Ability to adapt well to fast changing goals and research directions

California pay range

$140,000—$200,000 USD
