Job Summary And Qualifications


This position is responsible for assuring survey readiness at all of the St. David’s North Austin Medical Center campuses. Responsibility includes working with staff at all levels in the organization and continuously evaluating and improving processes to achieve and maintain regulatory compliance as defined by the Joint Commission and CMS standards. The Regulatory Compliance Coordinator will learn and perform additional duties within the Quality Management department that may assist with critical needs, staff shortages or holiday coverage.


  • Implement organization’s principles of good communication and customer service standards, including use of AIDET and KWAKT as developed by the department.
  • Attends and participates in facility committees, employee forums and departmental meetings as requested
  • Support the Director/Manager in coordination of survey activities with The Joint Commission; Texas Department of State Health Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and other regulatory agencies You will evaluate hospital performance in comparison to standards/requirements (i.e. Core Measures, Stroke, STS, and CathPCI)
  • Participate in Serious Event Analysis (SEA) for reportable safety events, and facilitate action planning and monitoring of success activities as needed.
  • Lead and/or serve on committees and task forces related to regulatory compliance and safety events


This Position has regulatory oversight responsibilities at all North Austin Medical Center (NAMC) campuses, which includes the St. David’s Surgical Hospital and our free-standing Emergency Department in Pflugerville. This role is housed at NAMC with minimum travel to/from the other sites as needed.

Experience and Education


Ability to collect, interpret and analyze data. Ability to apply critical thinking skills to process improvement and decision making. Ability to cope effectively with crisis and emergency situations. Strong and effective communication skills. Ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team and encourage team-building efforts. Knowledge of general hospital operations and quality improvement initiatives.


Must be able to demonstrate understanding of national patient safety initiatives by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures as required by both HCA and St. David’s North Austin Medical Center.


Computer skills: Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint; Adobe Acrobat


  • Minimum of three years relevant clinical or quality experience
  • Graduate of accredited nursing school with Nursing Diploma, Associates Degree or higher level education.


Preferred


  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Prior job experience demonstrating leadership, management, and successful communication and interpersonal skills.


Licenses and Certifications


Required


  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire
