Summary

The Compliance Specialist reports to the Director Legal, Compliance, Privacy & Security (“Director”) and has a key role in supporting the Director in implementing the seven elements of an effective compliance and helping promote the Company's vision, mission, and culture.

The position also supports the Director in the implementation and strategic direction of Suvida’s Compliance Program (“Program”). This includes creating a compliance strategy that ensures business accountability for oversight over the day to day monitoring of the business areas as well as supporting business partners in implementing that strategy. Essential responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • And state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • · Research and communicate legal and regulatory requirements
  • · Support in the development, implementation, and oversight of the Compliance Department key activities that support the seven elements of an effective compliance program as outlined by the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
  • · Collaborate with accountable business owners to ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, controlled and aligned with internal practices
  • · Execute on the annual Compliance work plan
  • · Provide ongoing compliance education and training to employees
  • · Research issues presented to the company (including, but not limited to):
  • A. Regulations and Regulatory Matters
  • · Compile information and prepare reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information
  • B. Policies and Procedures
  • · Support the Compliance Hotline, conduct investigations and provide timely responses to inquiries and compliance issues
  • C. General legal matters and overall risk management, including privacy and security, patient complaints and any filings and/or applicable responses.


Education Requirements

  • · Attention to detail
  • · Excellent communication and presentation skills; written and verbal
  • Physical Demands
  • · Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
  • · Experience working in healthcare quality, compliance, operations and supporting the risk assessment process, monitoring or audit activities and response to inquiries.
  • · Ability to embrace and simplify the complex

  • · Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • · Self-starter and interested in learning and developing expertise in new and emerging areas through education, networking and new experiences
  • · Bachelor’s degree required
  • · A well-developed ability and passion for problem solving and making complex topics understandable for various audiences
  • · Minimum of 3-5 years' experience with healthcare compliance
  • · Enjoy building and developing relationships
  • · Certification in Compliance, Masters or JD in Law or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration preferred


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for prolonged periods of time, stand, walk, talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms. Hand eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and other office equipment; must be able to operate a motor vehicle. When representing Suvida Healthcare at external events, the Compliance Specialist may also be required to stand for prolonged periods of time, kneel, crouch, bend and lift, and able to move up to 30 pounds.
