Real Estate Development Project Intern

We are a Bay area based real estate company. We manage a portfolio of residential properties as well as build homes in the San Francisco Bay-Area. We are a small team of dedicated team members. We're growing fast and we're looking for an outstanding Real Estate Development Project intern to be a part of our team. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Project manage and supervise the development of real estate acquisitions

• Work independently and with the management team, designers, general contractor and his construction teams to take our projects from concept to final product

• Work onsite to order windows, doors, appliances, trim etc and propose design solutions to the construction team

• Negotiate contracts with general contractors, vendors and suppliers

• Value engineer projects in order to control cost and maximize returns

• Manage projects schedule, budget and expenses

• Monitor construction progress, construction quality and timeline

• Quality control final product and manage final punch-list.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

• Strong management skills

• Experience in the construction industry with single family residential/ multi-family residential or small commercial construction is very helpful

• Excellent ability to multitask

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Polished, client-oriented verbal and written communication

• Self driven

• Experience working effectively both independently and within a team

• Ability to meet deadlines

• Flexibility in schedule and style

JOB REQUIREMENTS/ABOUT YOU:

• You have a college degree or are working towards one.

• You have a valid driver’s license

• You are proficient in Microsoft Office, Google docs, Microsoft Excel and technologically savvy.

• You MUST be able to juggle multiple projects at once

• You have excellent follow-up skills for quotes, emails and phone-calls to complete tasks.

• Excellent organizational, team management, problem-solving, motivational skills.

• You have the ability to anticipate change and consistently meet deadlines in dynamic environment

• You are extremely detail oriented and are able to multi-task

• You are eager to find a company to fully commit to and grow with

• You work well under pressure and in fast paced environments

• You have great people skills and you are fun to be around

• You are very resourceful.

We provide hands-on training and coaching with shadowing for job-site visits in a smaller firm. You get to participate in decision-making for the firm from paint colors for kitchens to the next multi-million dollar investment and share your thoughts and ideas in an open forum.

The perfect candidate would have some experience in real estate development/construction project management, but more importantly a true passion for real estate. Our company is start-up like, a flat organization with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and high commitment to excellence. The role is multifaceted with opportunities for developing a 360-degree view of the real estate industry.

While we are aware that often women candidates do not have the required construction experience, a solid experience in accounting and finance or architecture will be definitely considered.
