Description:Ocala Operations is a multi-shift manufacturing facility that build circuit cards, wiring harnesses, and electro- assemblies. The facility currently has over 1200 employees and provides products to six Missiles and Fire Control sites. Ocala specializes in both low volume high mix and high volume production that has a combination of automated processes as well as labor intensive manufacturing. Ocala Operations has a represented manufacturing workforce that is supported by a strong engineering and operations support team.

As an early career Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity to monitor and improve the quality of our operational processes and outputs. We are seeking talented engineers to join our team to help develop many best-in-class products and solutions in our Missiles & Fire Control Business Area at our Ocala, FL.

The Quality Engineer position reviews documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer.

Essential Functions of the Quality Engineer include:

• Utilizes lean initiatives to reduce waste and maintain continuous improvement.
• Attends program corrective action meeting, identifies trends, assists in problem resolution and insures responsible parties meet commitments.
• Interfaces with customers, suppliers and program personnel on quality related issues.
• Participates as an active member of Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards which includes dispositioning non-conforming hardware, identifying hardware containment , identifying appropriate root cause and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence.
• Makes the final decision on acceptability of product.
• Ability to analyze and resolve process issues varying from basic to moderately complex.
• Performs assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings, procedures and ISO-9001/AS9100.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree preferably in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering, or related engineering discipline from an accredited college.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques

Strong written and oral communication skills

Ability to work independently and as a team player

This facility requires special access and therefore all candidates must be a US Citizen
Desired Skills:
Previous Quality Engineering experience in CCA (circuit card assembly), electronics or C&H (cable and harness)
CQE (certified quality engineer)
CCA (circuit card assembly), electronics or C&H (cable and harness) experience
Understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques
Green Belt Certification
J-STD-001/IPC-A-610/IPC-WHMA-620 familiarization
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently and as a team player

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
