Job Summary:
Individual will be responsible for the application of a specific set of Chesterton products globally to a wide range of industries. Products including but not limited to Mechanical Seal Assemblies, Environmental Controls and IOT Devices. Applies standard engineering and industrial techniques to design, analyze, test, maintain, repair, or improve products, components, or assemblies. They are responsible for a wide variety of complex mechanical, chemical, plastics and/or technical duties in the documentation and associated research of various product offerings. They will prepare technical documentation for the sales force, customers and OEM's as required. Generates and/or recommends engineering changes and designs based on customer requirements. Individual will be working under minimal supervision. They will handle complex issues and problems with input of higher-level staff as necessary. They will provide guidance/training to more junior staff. Interaction with all aspects of some or all engineering, test lab, drafting, and production personnel on a regular basis. Individual will need to possess a solid working knowledge of subject matter which includes pumps, mixers, agitators and rotating equipment. Individual will specifically require an expert level technical understanding of pump operation, performance & application.
Some travel will be required.
Job Model: Hybrid
Hybrid positions will require employees to work both on-site and remote each week under a schedule that has been determined and agreed upon by you and your manager.
Responsibilities:
· Provides technical support via telephone, e-mail and Video Conferencing to internal and external customers regarding the application of Chesterton products.
· Travels in the field as needed to meet and service individual customer's needs.
· Troubleshoot product applications via telephone, webinars, video conferencing, e-mail or customer visits based on test reports, consultations with other applications engineers, test lab and design engineering.
· Support analysis of failed products to provide written description of damage and makes recommendations for corrective action.
· Provides technical documentation to field sales force, customers and OEM's as required.
· Enters technical information into databases and prepares various reports as requested by inside sales and engineering.
· Interacts with Customer Care Team (CCT), Manufacturing, Quality and other support functions regularly
· Processes documentation for the design, manufacturing, and production of our products.
· Assists engineers and others in analysis of data for the purpose of reviewing information to make engineering decisions.
· Records data. Graphs data using computer software.
· Makes recommendations and/or contributions regarding solutions to new techniques and products.
· Works with several or all engineering, customer care, drafting, test lab, and production personnel to accomplish projects.

· Ability to travel. Travels alone in the field to service customer needs.

Education and/or Experience:
· B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Marine Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Plastics Engineering, plus 3-5 years of related experience.
Other Skills and Abilities:
· Ability to write reports and make presentations.
· Ability to conduct research analysis.
· Ability to deal with emergency situations, using sound and logical thinking in choosing a particular course of action.
· Ability to effectively deal with agitated customers, vendors, or fellow employees.
· Computer skills including standard MS Office e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets and database management.
