Purchasing Clerk Jobs

SCB Division of DCX-CHOL Enterprises Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Clerk with the following skillset:

Summary Of Position

Purchasing Clerk have good understanding of purchasing management principles to be able to effectively support the purchasing department. Purchasing Assistant conduct vendor research and selection to cut costs and enhance profitability or efficiency.

Responsibilities And Essential Duties

• Analyzes and evaluates suppliers
• Responsible for maintaining relationships with the vendors, negotiating terms and prices for materials and services.
• Maintaining vendor relationships, working with multiple vendors to determine the best deals for the company
• Purchase materials, parts, components, supplies, equipment, services and plan accordingly, following purchasing policies and procedures to optimize price, delivery, and terms.
• Responsible for supporting the purchasing department in a variety of tasks related to the procurement of goods and services.
• Follow up
• Expedites as necessary
• Assist with AP issues to insure timely matching and payment of supplier invoices and drive continuous improvement of material/ component savings opportunities
• Utilizes the manufacturing resources planning ERP system to understand demand, place purchase orders, maintain supplier information, and validate lead times and pricing, and safety stock levels
• Interface closely with receiving, stockroom, engineering, quality, production, administration, and all levels of management to maintain daily and monthly schedules
• Performs other related duties as required
• Issues purchase orders
• Work closely with our Quality department to ensure suppliers understand and meet requirements for on time delivery of goods and services and quality of product. Knowledge of issuing purchase orders to qualified suppliers per the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
• Problem solving and decision Making-Ability to identify problems, compile information to solve them, act decisively and show good judgment
• Supports ERP system activities by expediting material, reviewing and executing shortages, managing open orders, and maintain procurement records
• Monitoring and tracking orders to ensure that they are delivered on time and in accordance with the terms of the purchase order.
• Responsible for reviewing and processing purchase orders, ensuring that they are accurate and complete.
• Provides input to management regarding problems such as shortages, design changes, and backlogs

Qualifications And Experience

• Equivalent of 2 years experience in Purchasing or related area.
• Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office applications such as

(Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) required.

Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

• Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with MRP/ERP software
• Experience in aerospace and defense industry with buying manufacturing hardware, materials
