Job Details


We are looking for a Contract Purchasing Specialist to join our team growing team. The Purchasing Specialist will provide procurement support to our Procurement & Contract teams. The role will place orders and ensure competitive and consistent pricing of products and services for the organization. This is a temporary 3 month Hybrid 9/80 ole with possibility of extension at the end of the 3 month term.


Responsibilities


  • Utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to track and manage all purchasing activities.
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to drive cost savings and improve efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, ensuring that all contracts are negotiated to the best possible terms for our organization.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and changes, using this information to inform purchasing decisions and strategies.
  • Resolve any issues or disputes with vendors in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the purchasing process, from the initial request for proposal (RFP) to the final delivery of goods or services.
  • Conduct regular audits of vendor performance, ensuring that all goods and services are delivered on time and to the required standards.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including accounting, to ensure that all financial aspects of the purchasing process are accurately recorded and managed.


Qualifications


  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Experience with ERP systems, with a strong preference for candidates who have experience with medical specific systems.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of RFP processes, contract negotiations, and vendor management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • High School Diploma/GED required; Associates Degree preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, with a proven track record of securing favorable terms and conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid role, balancing time between office and remote work.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions based on data and insights.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices would be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a purchasing, procurement, or accounting required
