Project Manager Lead - Finance/Accounting

Position Overview

Navistar has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager Lead – Finance/Accounting.

In this role, you’ll be part of the Research and Development group, in a lead position supporting acquisition of capital items. This includes working with cross functional teams from 5 vehicle validation test sites. Activities include strategic analysis, financial planning, budgeting along with forecast/actual analysis. You’ll be instrumental in helping our sites get the equipment and improvements needed to achieve future goals.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and participate in the Capital Acquisition process
• Drive and support process improvement through effective collaboration and partnership
• General Project Management (Scope, Timeline, Cost and Budget)
• Process tracking - % completion with target dates
• Analyze financial reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making
• Inspire trust and confidence with business partners and team
• Assist in the preparation of deliverables for the Operations Capital Board
• Foster productive cross functional working relationships across multiple test sites and departments (Accounting, Finance, Operations, Procurement)
• Project / Process management
• Planning and forecasting budget
• Support monthly budget forecast / variance analysis, including causals
• This position is focused on acquisition of needed Capital items to support 5 Vehicle Test Sites
• Documentation of Actual Spend vs Forecast
• Lead special projects as assigned in connection with the team goals and strategy
• Prepare monthly allocation for Accounting & spend forecast for Finance dept

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• At least 5 years of project/program management experience

OR

• At least 3 years of project/program management experience
• Master’s degree

OR

• At least 7 years of project/program management experience

Additional Requirements

• Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills

• Awareness of and experience working in the corporate Finance & Accounting process
• Excellent time management and organization skills with a proven ability to multi-task
• Knowledge of data visualization strategies to explore, analyze, visualize, and present data (software such as Tableau or Power BI are a plus)
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel & PPT
• Reliable at meeting deadlines and strong sense of urgency
• Highly effective written and verbal communication skills, including skills to work effectively in a team environment
