Senior Financial Project Manager
6+ month contract
McKinney, TX (Hybrid - 4 days/week in office)
High exposure to C level folks and change management between departments.
Financial background or Big 4 consulting.
Solid financial/accounting project background.
Moving accounting from fiscal year to calendar year. (Strategic role)
Job Summary
The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for working with business and Information Technology resources to lead program/project activities across the organization.
Responsible for the coordination and execution of highly visible projects within the organization.
Prior experience with Big 4 accounting firms or PM on Finance and Accounting projects.
Participate in strategic discussions to determine project timelines, scope and resources required to support enterprise projects.
Effective communication and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate status, issues/risks, and challenges clearly.
Listen, understand, and advocate long-term strategic vision for enterprise projects, managing prioritization shifts and adjustments.
Proven ability to lead teams and organizations and drive transformational change.
Monitor and status on project progress - escalate potential risks and help resolve issues, when necessary.
Ensure open communication across all functional areas supporting project activities, including corporate and operational stakeholders.
Support the Sr. Director, ITEA in the development of a project framework.
Support, mentor and guide additional resources and/or Project Managers to ensure alignment with the project management framework.
Advise and support business units in change management activities.
Advise and mentor business resources in the development of business process flows and standard operating procedures.
Build and maintain working relationships across all levels of the organization to influence decision making.
Address delicate situations and handle conflict to maximize opportunity and minimize exposure to risk.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Business, or related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management.
Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office 365 product suite.
PMP Certification
Experience working on IPO/ SOX readiness or experience with publicly traded companies
Experience with SmartSheet or similar tools
