Job Responsibilities

• Perform other duties upon request of the assistant deputy director for programs and the institution's warden.
• Help recruit volunteers from the community to assist in program facilitation.
• Teach courses/programs, help train inmates as peer-to-peer facilitators, and oversee program facilitation.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision, and with discretion.
• Responsible for development, implementation, oversight, instruction, and evaluation of agency sanctioned programs.
• Assist programs, reentry, and rehabilitative services with hands on development of specialized programs.
• Will work with inmates on a daily basis.

Must successfully complete eight (8) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum And Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and relevant experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements: (Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).

• Applicant must be a certified teacher in area vocational or have at least 3 years of experience in area of vocational trade carpentry.
