We started in California, and now operate programs in Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Uganda, and the USA. Since 2004, NEX has accelerated over 880 clean energy startups, supported over 3,000 entrepreneurs, and mobilized over US$1.5 billion in investment. Our goal is to support 100,000 entrepreneurs by 2030 - a solutions movement that benefits 100% of the population in the shortest time possible

This position will support the development and management of a network of tribal nations committed to clean energy infrastructure development that maximizes economic benefit to tribes and that supports their cultural integrity, sovereignty and environmental sustainability. The Program Associate will report to the CA Managing Director to start and eventually to the Program Manager as the team grows.

  • Work closely with subject matter experts and tribal nations to develop financial models and conduct financial analysis to assess the financial performance of existing and future projects and ventures
  • Provide input and help design effective and meaningful initiatives for tribal engagement related to entrepreneurship, decarbonization and the clean energy economy

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable and meaningful community engagement experience with nonprofits, government and/or private sector
  • Familiarity with the laws, structure, operations and decision-making process practiced by members of a sovereign nation and/or marginalized communities.
  • An undergraduate degree from a credential-approved institution of higher learning or comparable knowledge in inclusive community development/redevelopment, urban/regional economics, sustainability, finance, accounting, business management, public policy or the equivalent.
  • Commitment to supporting diverse clean energy entrepreneurs and the decarbonization of our economy
  • Minimum of 3 years working in a professional, collaborative and culturally diverse environment
  • Proven knowledge and familiarity of the roles of strategic and general plans, feasibility studies, business plans, and financial modeling
