And Duties


Patton State Hospital, Human Resources Department, is accepting applications for at least one (1) Full-Time, Permanent appointment, for an Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) classification. May also consider a Staff Services Analyst position. The vacancy exists in the Human Resources Department, which is under the direct supervision of the Compensation Manager (Staff Services Manager I).


Under the general direction of the Human Resources Compensation Manager, the analyst will be responsible for conducting technical and analytical human resources assignments such as researching and maintaining complete and accurate reports; researching and developing policy and procedure updates; benefit and/or payroll processing; auditing; responding to information requests; leading projects to ensure regulatory compliance; and conducting training.


The successful candidate will be required to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. The analyst must possess excellent oral and written communication skills; display strong analytical and statistical abilities; have excellent problem solving and organizational skills, ability to multi-task and work well under pressure. The incumbents must have excellent interpersonal skills and work with all levels of hospital management. Excellent attendance and dependability are critical and a must for this position and level of responsibility.


Statement of Qualifications: In addition to the State Application (STD. 678), applicants must submit a no more than two-page Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) describing and detailing the experience, education, and knowledge you possess in Human Resources or related field which are critical to your success in this role. Candidates must also describe in detail their skills and ability to complete projects as well as provide an example of when you were responsible for a significant work-related project and the outcome. Applicants who fail to submit a completed SOQ as instructed may be screened out from the hiring process.


All applicants may be pre-screened for breadth and depth of experience. Only the most qualified applicants may be interviewed based on screening criteria. For this reason, it is especially important that applicants take special care in thoroughly and accurately completing the application. A structured exercise may be administered during the interview process.

Masking in Health Care Settings and Patient Care Areas:


  • Effective April 3, staff working in administrative or non-treatment areas where there is no patient contact, are not required, but are still encouraged, to wear a mask.
  • Employees that access patient care areas and where team members may encounter patients within 6 feet indoors or outdoors are required to wear masks.
