Job Summary

The Professional Services Consultant will provide field services support in the following ways:

• Work with customer and their test systems to establish top failure scenarios and likely procedures (DR Failover, Provisioning, Troubleshooting, NDMP Backup, etc) and give them homework/drills on said subjects to improve their operational effectiveness.
• Experience working with an external customer and an internal account team.
• Provide care and feeding of estate
• Possesses excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Use professional concepts in accordance with company objectives to solve complex problems in creative and effective ways.
• Provide ongoing education of customer
• Understand CDOT deployment features used (including why and how)
• Establish reporting & monitoring metrics/dashboards/reports
• Follow appropriate escalation guidelines, as required, during customer engagements
• Experience working will all levels of management ranging from engineers to VP’s both face to face and written.
• Experience handling break/fix issues
• OCI – Daily monitoring of OCI environment including adding data sources as needed
• Proactively assist the customer and account team with activities and issues, facilitating engagement of NetApp resources/experts to fill in any gaps.
• Evaluation of existing processes to optimize and/or automate
• Understand deployment strategy and help finalize deployment documents and procedures
• Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
• Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• Strong knowledge of ONTAP/CDOT
• This role will be the ultimate repository and knowledgebase for automation workflows
• Assist and transition to own any operational NAS workflows to be documented for automation efforts
• How CDOT is deployed in the environment and how it works/doesn’t work.
• Frequently contributes to the development of new theories and methods.
• Be available, Initiate, Own, Finish!
• Critical to establish strong trusted advisor relationship with the customer and build confidence in NetApp products.
• Assist and transition to lead implementation efforts and operationalizing the Compliance and ICG Cloud NAS deployments
• Upgrade planning/prep/execution

Job Requirements

• Backup/DR/Multi-site configuration – Data Protection using snapshots and SnapMirror
• NetApp AFF/FAS/Hardware (shelves, cabling, etc.)
• NetApp ONTAP/CDOT
• Required Skillset:
• NFS v3 and v4; SMB 2 and 3

Nice to have Skillset:

• SnapLock / Compliance
• SAN experience Fibre Channel and iSCSI
• VMWare
• OnCommand Insight Experience as user
• ONTAP Select experience
• EMC VNX exposure
• Scripting – at least one of the following Python (preferred), Ruby, Perl, Powershell
• ONTAP 7Mode experience

Education

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5-8 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of experience; or a combination of applicable education/training/certifications and related years of experience in a professional field services work environment.

USA Residents Only:

The base salary hiring wage range for this position which the Company reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position in the specified geographic areas or locations, is $130,400 – $159,000. Final compensation will be dependent on various factors relevant to the position and candidate such as geographical location, candidate qualifications, certifications, relevant job-related work experience, education, skillset and other relevant business and organizational factors, consistent with applicable law. In addition, the position may include some of the following comprehensive benefits such Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401(K), Paid Time off (PTO), sick time, leave of absence as per the FMLA and other relevant leave laws, Company bonus/commission, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s).
