Production Manager, Manufacturing Jobs

I. Job Summary

The world renowned house of Harry Winston is looking for an exceptionally organized production manager to join our high jewelery workshop! The ideal candidate will be responsible for allocating labor resources, tracking production schedules, and working with both raw materials and finished jewelry.

II. Key Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Production Management:

• Work closely with Quality Assurance inspectors and be aware of quality issues that would cause delay in deliveries.
• Review orders and confirm correct stone count and size have been provided.
• Responsible for billing and raw metal inventory
• Prepare workorders for craftsman.
• Manage stone scanning process and coordinate file sharing with the CAD team.
• Support daily communication and requests from other departments.
• Create and track production schedules, prioritize orders, and allocate resources effectively to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Track and approve employee timecards and payment.

Procurement:

• Monitor inventory levels of tools and equipment for the workshop.
• Manage, order and track raw materials such as castings, solders, wire, and finding components.
• Generate purchase orders, check incoming materials, and track cost and process invoices.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Continuously assess and improve manufacturing processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency enhancements, cost savings, and quality improvements.
• Implement innovative solutions to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
• Prepare detailed production reports and maintain accurate records of manufacturing stages and delivery schedules.

Safety and Compliance:

• Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure compliance with legal requirements related to jewelry manufacturing.
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to safety protocols, conducting regular safety inspections, and implementing necessary precautions.

III. Job Qualifications

• Strong planning, organizational and project management skills
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook
• Self-motivated with a strong drive for organization and departmental efficiency
• Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with gemology and manufacturing techniques is a plus.
• Minimum 5-year experience in jewelry manufacturing, preferably in a high-end jewelry brand or workshop
