The Procurement Consultant/Senior Procurement Consultant role (level dependent upon experience) is a high-visibility position that provides extensive opportunities to foster and grow your consulting career under the direction and guidance of dynamic management and the Executive Leadership team. Consultants engage directly with our clients on various Procurement and Supply Chain related initiatives focused on improving efficiency, driving effectiveness, and increasing their ability to influence spend and drive value through their organizations.
What can you expect to do?
- As a Consultant, you will assist and manage workstreams within various client projects:
- In this role, you will work with our clients on sourcing, procurement, category management, spend management and spend analytics projects to solve problems through helpful recommendations and practical suggestions. Projects range from small, one-off projects to larger, longer-duration projects
- Operational and opportunity assessments, strategic sourcing, and spend assessments
- Stakeholder interviewing
- Modeling and analytics, and report writing
- Strategic Sourcing Initiatives
- Conducting market and supplier research
- RFx (development, management, and evaluation)
- Negotiations
- Workstream leadership
- A ProcureAbility Consultant also supports internal firm-building initiatives such as:
- Benchmarking
- Client research
- Proposal development
- Other internal projects
- Possible people leadership responsibilities (Senior Consultants)
- This role may report to a Project Manager or be a workstream lead / Project Manager
What is the experience needed to be successful in this role?
- Highly desired FAR Experience & knowledge – Federal Acquisition Regulation
- Expert-level skills with financial assessments, data assessments, Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables), creating charts and graphs, and creating Microsoft PowerPoint presentations
- Organizational redesign and change management experience
- Must have the ability to travel to client sites on an as-needed basis.
- Highly preferred bilingual English-Spanish
- Must have solid procurement experience in strategic sourcing and category management and highly preferred in the utility industry
- Procure-To-Pay platform experience (Ariba, Coupa, etc.) preferred
- 2-7 years of previous consulting experience
- Consulting skills are critical to be successful in this role, and project experience working for F500 clients is highly valued
- Experience sourcing various direct and indirect categories
- Technical proficiency with spend assessments and visibility tools to scope opportunity assessments, e.g., create spend assessments, establish baseline spend, and calculate realized savings from sourcing events
- Quantitative solid & presentation skills (Data Analytics, advanced Excel & PowerPoint) are required
- Undergraduate Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or equivalent
Location:
This role is remote and based in any US location, and availability to travel will likely be required.
