You will work alongside a team with diverse skillsets in talent management, leadership development, succession, executive recruitment, and talent research. You will partner closely with and support senior PRO Business Partners and business leaders across multiple parts of the business. This this role will lead:
- The planning, preparation, facilitation, and follow-through of talent discussions across business units, functions, cross-functional pools, and varying levels of leadership
- Practices and routines in support of leaders’ success, including intentional transition planning, development planning, ongoing monitoring and adjusting to ensure that each leader is set up to progress and grow in their targeted areas
- Succession management and the cultivating and curating of robust internal and external talent pipelines for executive leadership and key roles
- High priority future-focused strategy-based initiatives, which may include executive development strategy and programs, capability planning and development, workforce or demand planning, deeper pipeline leadership rotational programs or other organization wide initiatives in service of the talent strategy and priorities
- Building talent management capabilities across the enterprise
We’d love to hear from people with:
- Facilitation chops: depth of experience and methods to draw out what isn’t being said, engage resistant participants, and build trust, connection, and confidence through the process
- Confidence to question: confidence and artfulness to challenge leaders’ views or explore assertions about talent without damaging relationships, trust, or imposing judgement
- Propensity for Partnering: preference and practice in working alongside HR business partners to create collective momentum, connect the dots, and serve the business’s needs
- Data savvy: deep understanding of organization and talent data, benchmarks, and statistics & an ability to craft an objective and insightful story through data and storytelling
- Systems thinking & talent strategy: knowledge of the interconnectedness of talent levers and ability to advise towards the optimal outcome among constraints
- Entrepreneurial Effectiveness: can thrive in ambiguity, challenge paradigms to create solutions that haven’t existed before, and manage through a multitude of differing opinions and passion from leaders
- Leadership expertise: working knowledge of leadership models and development levers; an understanding of Starbucks’ leadership vision/frameworks/ tools; ability to seamlessly bring them together and redirect leaders
