: Jackfruit FInance Social Media and PR Volunteer/Intern

We are looking for a highly motivated and driven individual to join Jackfruit Finance as a Social Media and PR Volunteer/Intern. In this role, you will support our social media and LinkedIn presence, as well as assist in creating and distributing PR pieces. Ideally, you should be passionate about our mission to provide affordable financing for low-resource schools in Africa and have an interest in education.

Our business is the first digitized school lender in Africa, using technology at every step of the journey to increase education access and quality. With 1/3 of African children attending private schools due to the lack of access to public education, we have an enormous opportunity to make a difference in the lives of million

As a Social Media and PR Volunteer/Intern, your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with media outreach and relationship building with journalists and influencers
• Monitoring and reporting on social media and LinkedIn analytics to inform future content decisions
• Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in social media and PR
• Drafting and editing PR pieces, such as press releases and media pitches
• Creating and curating content for social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn
• Supporting the team in organizing events and webinars
• Assisting in the development and execution of social media and LinkedIn strategies to increase engagement and brand awareness

Requirements:

• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A passion for education and our mission to provide affordable financing for low-resource schools in Africa
• Familiarity with social media platforms and LinkedIn
• Knowledge of PR and media relations best practices
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in social media management, PR, or communications is preferred but not required
