Position Objectives and Responsibilities
- Respond to federal and state agencies regarding wage garnishments and levies and comply with record keeping requirements.
- Updating payroll records by entering any changes to employee information or benefits such as job title changes, exemptions and saving deductions
- Prepares & Maintains employee files
- Maintaining payroll information by collating, calculating, and entering data
- Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll queries
- Check payroll information for accuracy and ensure all relevant paperwork is in order
- All other duties as assigned by management.
- Coordinate with HR about changes in payroll (e.g., terminations, new hires)
- Respond to verification of employment requests with 48 hours
- Assists with requests for documentation for various company level audits
- Assist with processing and issuing W-2 forms to employees
- Maintaining all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures
- Preparing reports that include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, and non-taxable wages
- Assists with basic employee payroll profile updates in payroll software
- Assists with the processing of weekly payroll for union and non-union employees
Position Requirements and Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Federal and State labor laws
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal, skills and able to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the company and vendors
- Ability to prioritize, uses time efficiently, completes assignments in an accurate and thorough manner and is conscientious about tasks while demonstrating adaptability to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and deals with frequent delays or unexpected events
- Adheres to company’s core values
- Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, Google, Outlook required
- Foundation Software experience, preferred
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience - 2 years of Prevailing Wage and Certified Payroll experience is preferred
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Prior experience working in the construction industry is preferred
- Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking abilities, problem-solving skills, critical thinking, interpersonal skills
