Part-Time Editorial Page Assistant

The New York Post is seeking a Part Time Editorial Page Assistant (M-F) to join our team. The Editorial Page Assistant is responsible for selecting, editing and laying out letters for The Post’s daily Letters to the Editor section as well as handling other administrative tasks.
Responsibilities Include

• Managing the letters inbox, identifying a topic or topics for the daily letters section, editing and fact-checking submissions, laying out copy, choosing art, writing headlines and publishing the letters section online.
• Onboarding new freelance opinion writers, communicating with human resources and the opinion editor to get new writers approved and submitting a weekly freelance payroll
• Scheduling editorial board meetings, reserving conference rooms, sending out calendar invitations and coordinating visits with building security
• Assisting with social media posts

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Ability to work independently but also a great collaborator and a team player
• An effective manager of social media accounts
• Proven track record to manage multiple tasks and ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and follow ups
• Related research-reporting skills
• Proficiency in preparing WordPress files for online posting
• Have a working knowledge of SEO and social-media best practices
• A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in politically-centered opinion writing or related work
• Self-motivated and assertive with good use of tact and judgment

Note: The NY Post adheres to a hybrid work model.
Salary Range: $15/hr – $125,000
