Summary
Peak Nano Optics is seeking a Research Engineer to work as part of a multidisciplinary polymer, mechanical, and optical engineering team to advance the fabrication and large-scale manufacturing of our proprietary nano-layered gradient index of refraction (LGRIN) optical technology. There is significant optical and scientific expertise in the company, with a strong need for an employee capable of creating simulations, analyses, reports, and optimized solutions for problems arising from developing a new way of fabricating high-performance optics. This employee must have a firm understanding of measurement uncertainty, numerical approximation, and their impacts on the accuracy and relevance of physical models of real systems. The candidate will interact with a group of professionals dedicated to personal responsibility, transparency, steadiness, and a team mentality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design LGRIN based optical systems for commercial use or development
- Analyze multi-dimensional measured data ranging from optical system performances (MTF, wavefront, etc.), to various properties of polymers and complex 3D polymer structures.
- Document and present results to a multi-disciplinary audience ranging from mechanical, and optical engineers, to physicists and mathematicians
- Modeling molded multilayer polymer structures for applications in optical design, and LGRIN structure development
Develop and support software for
modeling our unique LGRIN technology in our commercial and internal optical design software
