Masters degree or equivalent experience in Physics, Optical Science, Electric Engineering, Materials Science, or similar field.

3+ years of laboratory experience designing optical experiments and optical metrology.

1+ years of experience leading projects through full cycle from early-stage concept to mass-producible or commercialized product for consumer electronics industry.

Ph.D. degree or equivalent experience in Physics, Optical Science, Electric Engineering, Materials Science, or similar.

However, base salary for this position will vary based on your skills, qualifications, and experience.

0-2 years’ direct experience in Lidar system design, development, and implementation for remote sensing applications (including years of post-doctoral study)

Ability to present technical concepts and designs to Senior Management and customers.

Interact with government and non-government representatives to ensure the customer requirements are fully understood and addressed.

Must demonstrate proficiency and knowledge in Lidar theory, atmospheric measurements, design, building, testing, analysis, and evaluation of optical systems.

5 or more years of experience in the packaging industry is preferred.

5 or more years of experience in product development, particularly in managing longer-term complex projects with direct customer interaction, is preferred.

Understand and use statistics and experimental design principles for creating and analyzing complex trial data sets.

Collaboration and engagement with new product processes and stage-gate innovation processes.

Leading technical calls/visits to customers, vendors, and external partners to gather information and expedite successful project completion.

Communicate project results to team members, managers, and upper management as required.

Practical knowledge and experience with characterization techniques such as GC, NMR, FTIR, MS, GPC, HPLC, TGA, DSC, etc.

3-5 years research and experimental design experience in academia or industry

Practical knowledge in organic synthesis and purification methods such as chromatography, distillation, and filtration

Practical knowledge of experimental design, polymer science, biomaterials, material processing, concepts or polymer engineering.

Laboratory safety training and experience including safe handling of chemicals, drugs, compressed gases, and biologics

Experience related to the above responsibilities are of course desired

Hands-on hacker mentality and experience building/making things

Up to two positions will be available, with activities including the following:

Simulation of an autonomous drone using the Unreal gaming environment

Testing of new neuromorphic vision hardware of our own design

Development of image processing and control algorithms to control a drone using neuromorphic vision hardware

Strong experience in backend development with proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python, Java, C++, etc.).

Solid understanding and experience with machine learning, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing.

Strong mathematical skills with a focus on statistics and algorithms.

Experience with machine learning frameworks (like Keras or PyTorch) and libraries (like scikit-learn).

Extensive experience with optical design and assembly

Experience with super-resolution and related literature and techniques

Experience and hands-on work with optical prototyping and design

Experience with deep learning, computer vision and machine learning

Full lab bench utilizing practical hardware experience, model and simulation, image processing, and physics-based algorithms

Experience in image forming systems, interferometry, holography, coherent imaging, adaptive optics, active imaging, three-dimensional imaging, and / or three-dimensional display.

Design, develop, build, and test hardware and algorithmic aspects of optical systems

Proven track record in a hands-on R/D research role

Support development by writing and briefing proposals, responding to RFIs, writing white papers, and participating in proposal reviews.

Conduct research and plans development and design of lasers, infrared, and other light emitting and light sensitive devices.
