Operator Jobs

Job Summary:
 

Operator will be responsible for operating various type of machines in the plant. They will adhere to all CBN STI safety, quality, inventory and production guidelines, standards, policies, and procedures.

 
Responsibilities:

• Ensure all consumables are available during production run
• Cross trains on a variety of production equipment
• Maintains daily log of all work processed
• Update Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts
• Input information for material tracking and accountability
• Operates and monitors computer and equipment to meet production schedules
• Assures quality product by conducting in-process inspections and evaluating finished product to quality standards
• Troubleshoots minor equipment malfunctions and corrects as directed by machine fault or computer operations.  Refers complex problems to a technician
• Transfer completed production lots to the next processing step ensuring production reports are accurately completed
• Operation of quality control equipment –E.g.  barcode scanners
• Data entry of all information as required
• Verify inventory beginning lot counts with ending lot counts
• Operate equipment according to specifications to produce customized jobs according to predetermined quality standards
• Operation of engraving, printing and mailing equipment
• Examination of printed product for flaws
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

 
Qualifications

• Proficient user of business-related computer applications (Microsoft word, excel)
• Prior printing background/examination/inspection is an asset 
• Must be legally eligible to work in the USA
• Must be able to work all shifts (Days, Afternoons, Nights)
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts (an asset)
• Ability to move throughout the facility to gather information, materials, and authorizations
• Requires good mathematical skills (sequential, add, subtract, multiply)
• Production background with experience operating a repetitive high-volume machine
• Must work overtime hours during the week and weekend
• Ability to read, operate and maintain various equipment in quality control lab
• High School or GED equivalent and 12 months of production experience in a high volume continuous operating manufacturing facility
• Ability to apply written instructions to machine set-up
• Experience maintaining quality control charts and graphs (an asset)

 Physical Demands/Environmental Elements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to withstand rigorous physical demand including, bending, squatting, lifting, and standing for long periods of time
• Constant walking and standing (75%)
