From our comprehensive benefits package to the rewarding work, together we make our community stronger.Job Responsibilities:Ensures optimal operation of 4-color and 2-color printing press machines including quality, timeliness, machinery maintenance and supplies. Prepares plates, accurately records labor time and operates binding and finishing equipment.Prepares and operates an offset machine using masters, stencils or platesReceives materials to be printed, including forms, reports, booklets, bulletins and manualsMay assist with various pieces of production equipment including the paper cutter, hole puncher, padder, bindery, stitcher, trimmer, stapler, collator and folderMaintains inventory as assignedFiles and preserves plates and negativesMakes minor adjustments and repairs to machines; reports major repairs to supervisorOther duties related to the civil service job description for this title Minimum Civil Service Qualifications: Must hold permanent status as an Offset Machine Operator; or; Must be reachable on current Offset Machine Operator civil service list; OR;Must meet minimum qualifications for provisional appointment as follows: A) Completion of two (2) years of high school and two (2) years of office or print shop experience, at least one (1) year of which must have involved the operation of an offset printing machine; or: B) Four (4) years of office or print shop experience, at least one (1) year of which must have involved the operation of an offset printing machine; or: C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) This position is subject to civil service examination at a future date.
