Our company


Innovafeed contributes to the construction of sustainable food systems by developing a pioneering and innovative industry: the breeding and processing of insects (Hermetia illucens or black soldier fly).


Our mission:


  • To generate local economic dynamism: in order to feed and raise our larvae, we are co-located with agro-industrial partners that provide us with co-products and low footprint energy
  • To have a positive overall environmental impact based on the circular economy and inspired by natural food chains


Incorporated in 2016, Innovafeed manufactures and sells 3 different insect-based products:


  • For high-quality aquaculture that’s respectful of animals’ natural diets, insect protein well suited for fish feed, particularly for salmon and trout that you would fly fish in a river! 🐟 It’s also an excellent protein source for pet foods, particularly for dogs and cats🐶😺
  • For a regenerative agriculture that’s respectful of soils’ integrity, insects feces are leveraged as an efficient organic fertilizer 🌱
  • For a sustainable farming that’s respectful of animal welfare, insect oil is efficient for feeding animals like poultry and swine 🐤


The success of our project depends on a dynamic and talented team. We opened the first production site in Gouzeaucourt (Hauts-de-France) in 2017. We launched our second production site in Nesle (Somme) at the end of 2020: and it is 20x times larger than Gouzeaucourt!


In September of 2022, Innovafeed raised US$ 250 million in Series D funding bringing the total cumulative financing to US$ 450 million. This capital will be used to further increase production capacity in France through the further expansion of its Nesle site and construct the largest insect production plant in the world in Decatur, Illinois, USA.


We are experiencing significant growth through strong market traction and significant production scale-up.

Your missions


Within Innovafeed, our North American team works on our first international expansion in the United States as we build out what will become the world’s largest insect production facility in Decatur, Illinois.


In this newly created position, you will join the team with a focus on developing our commercial relationships and value proposition in this new geography.


Reporting directly with the Director of North American Business Development and in coordination with the Technical Sales and Marketing team at French HQ, you will be responsible for:


  • Developing business leads in North America and maintain CRM & opportunity pipeline targeting offtake contracts for US pilot and industrial plant across assigned market segments
  • Formulating marketing plan for key verticals highlighting product performance, sustainability, and Innovafeed’s technological leadership through branding, conferences, and certifications
  • Laying the foundation for growth for commercial expansion in North America as it pertains to regulatory and quality compliance
  • Executing North American Communications strategy in coordination with French HQ
  • Building North American “value chains” relationships with retailers to highlight sustainable feed as differentiating consumer story, building off success of EU approach


Your profile and skills


You have a university degree and a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in business development, marketing, and/or communications in the North-American food or agriculture sectors.


Candidates must be authorized to work in US and be open to travel both locally and internationally. Due to the international travel requirements for this position, holding a valid passport and maintaining current COVID-19 vaccination, including applicable boosters, is required.


You are able to build and communicate an innovative vision and align internal and external stakeholders around ambitious business development objectives.


You are comfortable in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments with a high level of complexity and ambiguity.


You are pragmatic and efficient and propose innovative approaches in the short term and ensure the development of key knowledge and skills for Innovafeed in the long term.


You are results-oriented, on time and on budget: you will constantly optimize the resources needed to reach your objectives.


You know how to work in a team, managing several subjects simultaneously with a sense of priority.


Your salary and benefits


This full-time position has an annual salary range of $70,000 - $80,000 depending upon experience with annual performance bonus potential. This non-exempt position will be eligible to participate in any benefit plans and programs offered by the Company from time to time to other similarly situated employees, subject to the terms of the Company’s policies, plans and programs, as amended from time to time.
