Job Description

Our client, a growing global organization in the medical device manufacturing space located in downtown Chicago, is looking for a North American Lead HR Business Partner to run HR processes for all of North America!
This is a hybrid, solo role and will not have any direct reports to start off. While the title is an HR Business Partner, this role has a director-level scope of responsibility as this person will be the sole decision maker for all things HR in North America. This North American Lead HR Business Partner will support about 100 corporate staff and will work closely with other key decision makers abroad.
Responsibilities
North American Lead HR Business Partner Responsibilities
  • Handle employee relations issues from the day to day to more complex investigations
  • Oversee all HR department initiatives and projects in North America, partnering with senior leadership
  • Provide coaching and training to managers on a regular and ongoing basis
  • Work with top leadership and executives to further the policies and procedures of the HR department, as well as the overall goals of the company
  • Create an HR department strategy in line with the business needs of the company, including but not limited to performance management, employee development, retention and engagement programming and compensation projects
Requirements
North American Lead HR Business Partner Requirements
  • Ability to strategically plan and execute programs and projects, and must be comfortable making HR decisions on their own
  • Excellent communication skills, business acumen and working knowledge of human resources
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of HR generalist experience with emphasis on employee relations, performance management and talent development
