Nextgen Systems Engineer - Remote

The Nextgen Systems Engineer is responsible for configuring, supporting, and maintaining cloud-based systems while managing the backend of the NextGen environment. This role will work with a variety of different technologies including visualization software, Windows operating system, remote connectivity, and a suite of applications to build out robust cloud computing environments that meet the needs of the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Vendor troubleshooting.
• Utilize data center operations:
• Provide technical NextGen expertise.
• Windows Server Platforms.
• Assist with other cross-departmental initiatives.
• Complete projects and track time worked in an accurate and timely manner.
• Manage NextGen technical administration and troubleshooting:
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot all necessary system backups, including patches and upgrades.
• Maintain departmental service levels, ticketing system notes, and time entries according to written procedures.
• Application upgrades and maintenance tasks.
• Application installation and configuration.
• Microsoft SQL.
• Remote Desktop Services/Connection Broker.
• Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and provide general support for the organization's NGE clients.
• Application installation and configuration.
• Plan and lead high-level backend technical projects that interact with various teams within the organization.
• IPSec and SSL VPNs.
• Works with application vendors to support and maintain their applications as necessary.
• Utilize your deep experience and problem-solving skills to help prevent and investigate production issues.
• Introduce tools and processes to facilitate greater automation and operability of services.
• Microsoft Exchange.
• Work with vendors with technical support contracts to resolve issues for customers.
• Vendor troubleshooting.
• VMWare ESXi, Cisco UCS, EMC.
• Complete system configuration and management of multiple Microsoft Windows environments.

Requirements:

• Participate in on-call rotations and ensure uptime of services, as needed.
• Scripting experience with Powershell is a plus.
• EHR/EPM software, preferably NextGen/Aprima/Medisoft.
• Microsot technologies (Active Directory, SQL Server, DNS, etc.)
• Application installation and configuration.
• RD Gateway / TS Farm deployments and support.
• SQL Server administration.
• Mastery of Microsoft Windows Server and Remote Desktop.
• GPOs and other security-related items.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a hosting or MSP environment.
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is required.
• Experience with the following:
• Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, SQL Server, DNS, etc.).
• Minimum of 3 years of NextGen EHR expertise.
