AAA is hiring for a Systems Engineer II to join our team! This role ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by deploying, monitoring, securing, supporting, and optimizing all assigned networked software/services and underlying infrastructure. The Systems Engineer II will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve moderately complex issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Participate in cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid in management making implementation decisions.
- Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing & operating systems.
- Conduct research on software and systems products to assist in justifying recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
- Resolve any assigned work problems, incidents, changes or project tasks within assigned SLA. Ensure all assigned tasks are appropriately updated within ITSM platform.
- Participate in PCI Compliance, including providing evidence for quarterly and yearly audits.
- Repairs and recovers from hardware or software failures with necessary urgency. Communicates and coordinates with affected users or clients during outage through established pathways.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and supportive relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.
- Assist in working with executive & business line team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements/goals and to identify/resolve systems issues.
- Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports.
- Perform server security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems/services; assist in development and implementation strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
- Acknowledge and abide by Information Security Policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Provide orientation and training to end users as needed for new applications/services.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure smooth and reliable operation of assigned software/services and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
- Interact with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors as needed to secure system-related products and services.
- Assist in creation and maintaining of documentation as it relates to systems configurations, mapping, processes, and service records.
- Work closely with Systems Infrastructure Architect in planning/implementation of systems solutions.
Minimum Requirements:
- University degree in computer science or software engineering
- 1-2+certificates in systems related hardware/software and/or documented technical training in systems disciplines
- 3-5+ years’ of technical work experience.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Strong experience in one of the following focus areas or both.
- Extensive support experience with company applications.
- Excellent software & hardware troubleshooting experience.
- Working technical knowledge of current Server and Desktop Operating Systems (Microsoft and/or Linux) deployment & support.
- Good project management skills with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft 365, Exchange.
- Hyper Converged Infrastructure, legacy SAN technology, server hardware, VMware ESXi, VMware Horizon, Nutanix AHV, and/or Hyper-V virtualization.
- Experience with Sharepoint, Microsoft Teams, One Drive, Azure, AWS, and/or GCP a plus.
- Other preferred skills Linux Redhat, scripting/automation (Bash, Perl, Python, Powershell), Redhat Ansible Engine, other OS’s (CentOS, Ubuntu, Oracle XEN).
