The Apple Media Products (AMP) Video team is searching for an expert broadcast systems engineer to work with a third party and manage our live broadcast systems. You will join a hardworking and hands-on live streaming engineering team that champions inclusivity, creativity, and pragmatism. We deliver highly available and performant solutions that power our outstanding live streaming experiences across the Apple TV App ecosystem.

Key Qualifications

  • Ability to summarize and handle incidents
  • Experience in both hardware and software systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple multi-functional teams
  • Knowledge of video and audio signal flows, workflows, protocols, and codecs
  • Understanding of IP video and audio protocols and codecs such as SMPTE ST-2110, JPEG XS, SRT, NDI, Dante, Zixi, etc.
  • 5+ years of broadcast (and streaming) experience
  • Knowledge and baseline experience in coding languages such as Python and bash scripting

Description

Work effectively and efficiently across multiple internal and external teams to understand systems, workflows, and issues. Contribute to the design of media systems and services across both cloud and data center environments. Address real-time signal, workflow, and system issues under real-time pressure. Solve complex internal and external partner and vendor integrations. This role will require nights and weekend work About you: You have a passion for figuring systems, infrastructure, and workflows out. You thrive in live environments where every second matters and are a firm believer of collaborating with engineering and operations teams alike.

Education & Experience

BS/BA in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent is preferred Equivalent or relevant field experience acceptable

Pay & Benefits

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $115,000 and $217,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
