The National Sales Manager - Walmart is a key strategic leader in Wahl's N.A. Consumer division responsible for leading the Walmart & SAMS Club team. This leader will work with many cross-functional teams including: Order Entry, Demand Planning, Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain to ensure the business runs smoothly and continues to grow at a high rate. The National Sales Manager-Walmart is responsible for sales growth, profitability, analytics, and customer line reviews, requiring attention to detail and strong communication skills. The National Sales Manager - Walmart reports to the Vice President of North America Consumer Sales. There is one (1) direct report to this position along with a third subordinate on the team. This position will be Hybrid or Remote depending on location, based out of or near Sterling, IL or Bentonville, AR preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Train and develop the skills of the Walmart Analyst/Retail Link Specialist.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Actively participate in scheduled internal weekly, monthly, and annual sales/planning team meetings, preparing in advance to share relevant and beneficial information.
- Analyze the business and prepare assortment, pricing, planogram, and promotion plans at annual customer line reviews to increase WAHL sales and market share and negotiate on Wahl's behalf for the best outcome.
- Schedule, prepare, and lead internal planning meetings prior to Walmart and SAMS Club line reviews.
- Manage the sales controllables; product assortment, planogram, pricing, and promotion to deliver sales and profit results.
- In conjunction with Demand Planning, develop product forecasts that incorporate new product introductions, planogram changes and promotional plans.
- Drive revenue, profit, and market share.
- Collaborate with internal departments, e.g., finance, demand planning and supply chain to become more efficient and reduce costs.
- Develop and strengthen internal account contacts to enhance Wahl's connections and knowledge to keep abreast of strategic platform changes.
- Develop, manage and analyze account specific sales and promotional plans, within budget.
- Analyze and track competitive activity, and proactively develop plans and programs to leverage opportunities.
- Develop relationships above the buyer/Category Manager level.
- Develop relationships cross functionally at each customer.
- Become immersed and educated in all WAHL's product categories.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Must have excellent computer skills.
- Proven track record in Fact Based Selling (analyzing data, developing a story, presenting and implementing strategies) that have created demand and maximized sales while maintaining profit margins.
- Ability to work independently and in a group/team setting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Teams) and data analysis
- Ability to model the Company's values of respect for people, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- 5+ years relevant sales experience selling to Walmart preferred.
- Ability to work well under stress and handle multiple tasks.
- Minimum 5 years of sales leadership experience in a Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) company preferred.
- Ability to work in fast paced, high energy environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% 25-40% (depending on location) as needed, including occasional weekend travel for shows and events.
- Must have excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
