Multi-State Payroll Manager Jobs

We are working with a dynamic organization serving clients in various U.S. markets and Canada now looking to hire a Payroll Manager. There will be no direct reports initially and the ideal candidate must have experience processing payroll for at least 75 employees and experience with multi-state payroll; thorough understanding of laws and compliance in various states is a must. Currently there is a PEO but will move away from this in the next 2-3 years. This is a new position and a great opportunity to join a growing team!

Responsibilities will include:

• Gathering and submitting data for payroll processing and coordinating with 3rd party PEO.
• Payroll compliance
• New hire verification and records (I9, VOE, E-Verify, etc...)
• Extensive forecasting experience is important; to help forecast salary/wage expenses as team continues to scale
• Maintaining accurate records of employee payments
• Experience with variable compensation models since there are various complex comp models.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience processing payroll for at least 75 employees
• Able to work independently
• Advance Excel skills and experience with financial analysis and forecasting
• Minimum 4 years of experience in similar role in a fast-paced enironment
• Multi-state payroll processing experience
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects
• Strong written and verbal communications skills

Must be open to travel for important meetings.
