The Member Engagement Manager will report to the Director of Member Engagement and oversee the East Tennessee market Member Engagement Specialists. The ideal candidate will be a highly personable professional with excellent communication skills. This individual will work to support market(s) that Wayspring offers services in and oversee multiple member outreach specialist. Monthly travel to East Tennessee market locations is required (3-4 times per month).


Responsibilities of the Member Engagement Manager

  • Develop appropriate documentation protocols
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of Wayspring’s member engagement team
  • Supervise a team of engagement specialist
  • Complete administrative tasks as assigned
  • Develop and execute benchmarks and key performance indicators, including member engagement and success metrics
  • Work across markets to provide trainings on engagement
  • Initiate creative strategies to facilitate member contact, including some in-person opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations as well as health plan policies relative to program documentation and reporting
  • Maintain performance accountability around member enrollment and achieve performance targets
  • Partner with the provider operations manager to enhance member enrollment
  • Provide training to all new engagement specialists
  • Lead delivery of in-market execution of member engagement
  • Adhere to Wayspring information security and privacy requirements


Requirements & Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional verbal communication skills, and effective presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability working in a matrixed environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • The ability to communicate effectively and persuasively is required
  • History of managing substance use disorder or behavioral health programs preferred
  • Passion for serving patients with substance use disorder
  • Excellent written, computer, presentation, and oral communication skills
  • 2 +years of experience within a behavioral health setting, ideally working with populations experiencing Substance Use Disorders
  • Ability to travel as business needs require (Up to 25%) - within the state of TN
  • Strong leadership skills and willingness to support and manage front-line staff
  • 3+ years in a manager/supervisor role, leading teams in metric driven, corporate/community service OR behavioral health environments
