JOB PURPOSE

The Media Assistant position supports the media buying process by assisting with the creation, implementation, and stewardship of media buys. Media Assistants will learn the basic principles of media buying and planning and will maintain constant and effective communication with the Assistant Media Negotiators, Negotiators, and all members of the Media Department. This position concentrates on entering spot times and ensuring pre and post logs are correct, as well as seeing to any needed corrections for various clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Requests pre and post logs from cable, broadcast, and local networks

· Update DR Tracker on a weekly basis and notify their assigned Media Negotiator when clearance is too low or too high

· Notifies the negotiator daily of any issues that arise with the account

· Uploads avails in XML or SCX format into Strata for their Media Negotiator’s markets

· Accurately tracks and resolves discrepancies and make goods along with Assistant Media Negotiator and Media Negotiator

· Addresses any traffic rotation issues directly with the stations/networks

· Accurately submits finalized pre and post logs to negotiator for final approval

· Submits approved pre and post log to account service team by due date and communicates any important information to the team

· Monitors media dollars/ratings/impressions weekly and alerts the team of any discrepancies

· Insures a fair and equitable distribution of spots according to daypart, day of week, and program

· Communicates with networks, stations, and media vendors on a regular basis

· Assists with general data entry and additional projects within the media department

· Acts as back-up receptionist when needed and in the absence of the receptionist

· General receptionist duties include: answering phones and other reception-related tasks

· Follows all company health and safety procedures

· Perform other related duties as required or assigned



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) preferred; but not required

Compensation Range: $18.00-20.00/hour. This is the pay range Ocean Media reasonably expects it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on level of experience, relevant skills, professional certifications, market pay, and demand for the role. Ocean Media reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
