Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Gentle Barn Social Media Assistant is responsible for assisting The Gentle Barn's social media team with administrative and content production tasks. You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines. Organizational skills, timeliness, and a desire to learn more about social media marketing are key! You must be capable of professional interactions with the public, influencers, brands, and celebrities. Having a strong eye for engaging content, current trends, and emerging platforms is a plus.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


Organization:

  • Maintain extensive media library and distribute assets as needed
  • File and organize incoming photo and video assets from a wide variety of sources
  • Take meeting notes and distribute as needed


Research and Curation:

  • Search through a wide variety of sources (internal photo albums, tagged Instagram posts, video archives) and flag shareable photo & video content
  • Maintain social calendar for relevant holidays and anniversaries and share upcoming dates with stakeholders
  • Search The Gentle Barn’s website and other internet sources for quotes, facts and stats to be used in content
  • Research and provide information on influencer, celebrity, and media brands with interest in rescued animals as needed


Community Management:

  • Assist with DMs and direct communications through social media with the public, influencers, celebrities, and brands
  • Assist with monitoring and engaging with user comments on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Youtube, LinkedIn, and Twitter
  • Keeping track of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for impact and community engagement
