Materials Manager Jobs

The Materials Manager will directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in distributing materials, equipment, and supplies in an organization by buying all materials and make sure have inventory and manage the correct level, and right levels so do not go over requirements. They will be responsible for planning the daily production plan for sales orders and distribution orders.

• Eliminate past due backlog and backorders for all products determined to be available in stock upon demand.
• Work closely with Marketing and Sales to properly forecast new product timelines and sales.
• Ensure the quality and timely delivery of purchased items in support of production schedules and customer requirements.
• Develops and installs clerical and office procedures and practices, and studies work flow, sequence of operations, and office arrangement to determine expediency of installing new or improved office machines.
• Forecast inventory levels on a rolling 90 day go forward so as to anticipate inventory levels and cash flow needs.
• Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.
• Maintain correctly balanced inventory levels on all purchased material and supplies to prevent out of stock conditions and cash flow problems relating to inventory.
• Plans and implements activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials.

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Business or Supply Chain Management or related field of study
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to travel 10%
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
• 6+ years related experience in Supply Chain or Purchasing

• This position has 3 direct reports of Buyers and Buyer/Planners

• Salary range for this role is $108,000 to $130,000 but will ultimately depend on experience level .
