About the Role:


The Editor assists the marketing team with editing and proofreading needs, primarily for partner promotional materials but also for Wiley Education Services work where assigned. This role is responsible for maintaining style preferences based on AP style in addition to other style books and company and partner preferences. This involves correct citation, fact-checking, eliminating passive voice, clarifying content without influencing meaning, grammar, formatting, and spelling (according to M-W Collegiate where not specified by AP style).


How you will make an impact:


  • Demonstrating knowledge of both AP, APA, and MLA style guides in addition to propriety and client style guides
  • Monitor the overall tone and approach for marketing content (both print and digital)
  • Mostly independent work with emphasis on intermittent collaboration
  • Editing or proofing of marketing material
  • Cooperation with global in-house editorial colleagues
  • When needed, training and educating writers is expected
  • Using project management software to successfully juggle numerous projects at a given time
  • Ensuring content is prepared according to strategy goals and conforms to editorial guidelines


What we look for:


  • Bachelor’s degree in English or a related subject
  • Must be able to multi-task in a deadline-oriented role
  • Proven ability to recognize weak writing and work with writers to improve it
  • Have a strong command of the English language, in both oral and written form
  • Desired: 3-5 years of editing work experience
  • Must be trusted to be the final view on materials with thorough attention to consistency and accuracy

We are committed to fair, transparent pay, and we strive to provide competitive compensation in addition to a comprehensive benefits package. The target base pay range for this position is $64,700 to $92,700. This range represents Wiley’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
