Job Description

PR Writer & Editor

Mogul Press is looking to hire a PR Writer & Editor - Remote to join our growing company!

An ideal candidate should be passionate about writing featured PR articles and providing critical editorial feedback on the articles written by writers for our media brands. As a PR editor, you should be able to research, write and edit featured PR articles independently. In addition, your job is to critically review the guidelines of all clients and provide editorial feedback to the writers. You will also ensure that the content delivered to clients conforms to client guidelines and styling conventions. You will have to work with a content manager to ensure the content you approve is according to the company's editorial style.


Responsibilities

The candidate must be able to do the following:

  • Writing, editing, proofreading, fact-checking, and rewriting web content (including PR articles, collaborator spot articles, and press releases) for stylistic consistency, grammatical accuracy, logic, organization, rational development of content, and emphasis.
  • Proactively communicating with all stakeholders, including but not limited to writers, editors, managers and clients, to make sure PR editorial feedback is timely and meticulously incorporated.
  • Conducting in-depth research on industry-related topics to develop original content.
  • Submitting articles to managers for input and approval after ensuring 100% compliance with clients’ guidelines and style conventions.
  • Recommending content and layout edits while coordinating with stakeholders to ensure the highest quality of content written by our writers.
  • An eye for detail and the capacity to work under pressure are required.
  • Completing PR Writing and Editorial projects, meeting deadlines, and following content requirements in terms of style and project specifications.
  • Managing content lifecycle in various niches, including Insurance, Law, Business, and Marketing and trending topics across the globe, PR articles, etc.
  • Ensuring that PR editorial style is adhered to (it means adhering to the particular style conventions of a given publication, e.g. the publication’s tone and punctuation/grammar conventions).


Requirements

The candidate must have the following:

  • A minimum of three years of work-related education or experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to recognize potential story angles and newsworthy topics leveraging advanced understanding of audience and context.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with different objectives simultaneously.
  • Strict adherence to the style guides of the company and its policies for writing for different niches.
  • Good time management skills, including prioritizing. scheduling, and adapting as necessary.
  • Proven record of excellent writing, editing and proofreading PR editorial content demonstrated in a professional portfolio.
  • Proficiency with computers, especially writing programs, such as Google Docs, Microsoft Word, and Grammarly.
  • Bachelor's degree in English Literature, Communication, Business, Marketing, Journalism or a related field
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to proactively communicate with colleagues and management to express ideas clearly and logically.
  • An impeccable grasp of verbal and written English language, including idioms and current trends in slang and expressions.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no daily supervision.
  • Familiarity with the basic requirements of content creation and the company's brand image, products, and services is a must.

Salary Range:
