As a member of the Optum Financial Marketing team, the Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for creating consumer centric, data-driven, omnichannel communications to engage customers in Optum Financial Health Benefit Account initiatives. You’ll partner closely with Product, Operations, Account Management, Technology and Creative teams to produce internal and external communications tailored by audience and product solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure application of internal and external communications standards established for the business (e.g., branding standards/guidelines, internal style guides, naming conventions, CAN-SPAM laws, legal review, AP style guides, communications industry standards, health literacy.)
- Lead incident response communications to articulate issues to impacted consumers and keep internal stakeholders informed
- Develop, coordinate, and execute communication strategies through high impact messages, data-informed segmentation, and multi-modal formats (email, web, digital, mobile, print, social, etc.). Support and engage current and new Optum Financial account holders and clients
- Develop the necessary metrics to evaluate effectiveness of communication plans; monitors results and modifies strategy accordingly. Report out to senior leadershi
- Partner closely with health benefit account operations to develop content on operational processes, to enable consumers to self-serve and mitigate volume to the Call Center
- Build collaborative partnerships with internal stakeholders in all functional areas of the company
- Leverage a suite of marketing operations tools to enable end-to-end communications functions
- Drive initiatives to modernize communications, including rewriting, simplification, automation and more
- Translate technical business requirements into impactful, consumer-friendly external communications, to drive engagement and adoption
- Educate and guide customers through product launches, platform migrations and user experience changes with effective communications

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years communications development, consumer product management and/or marketing work experience, including demonstrated execution of omnichannel communications/campaigns
- 5+ years communications/marketing experience within a matrixed organization, with demonstrated ability to work on cross-functional projects, prioritize competing deadlines and work through change.
- Bachelor's degree or four years of relevant marketing/communications experience
- B2B2C or B2C communications experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of health benefit accounts
- MBA
- Writing samples may be requested
- Transactional, informational &/or promotional writing expertise
- Proficiency in proofreading/editing
- Experience in a highly regulated industry, incorporating regulations, industry standards and legal guidelines into project work
- Experience in health care &/or financial industry
- Experience with Salesforce CRM, Workfront, Eloqua, or similar sales and marketing workflow management solutions

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $85,000 to $167,300. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
