Are you looking for an opportunity to join a claims team with a fast growing company that has consistently outpaced the industry in year-over-year growth? Liberty Mutual Insurance has an excellent claims opportunity available.
As a Manager of Property Forensic Accounting, you will act as a Commercial Property Thought Leader on time element losses responsible for conducting process and business analysis to provide recommendations that will drive operational, business outcomes, and customer experience improvements. You will partner with Learning Services to develop the technical acumen of staff and partner with the Data/Analytics team to refine our data strategy. You will independently prepare and oversee forensic accounting analysis on large, complex Commercial claims. You will perform complicated forensic accounting and financial analyses using in-depth technical accounting and insurance coverage knowledge. You will advise claims adjusters in financial matters relating to the financial aspects of claims and participate in litigation activities related to claims work.
This is a remote opportunity that does include 15-25% travel.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Presents findings and recommendations in a cohesive, articulate, and actionable manner to Regional Leaders and Vice President.
- Testifies as an expert financial/economic witness at trial or deposition. Provides support in mediation and arbitration activities.
- Provides pre-trial assistance to attorneys, helping in the development of accounting, economic, and financially related discovery requests. Evaluates and responds to reports and conclusions of opposing economic and financial experts.
- Evaluates and, as necessary, reconstructs accounting data to prepare comprehensive financial damage analyses. Audit activities include multifaceted records reviews, forensic reviews, and data analyses, researching alternative information sources, and conducting in-depth interviews.
- Acts as a technical expert providing financial, accounting, economic, and auditing consultation for adjusters and attorneys.
- Conducts periodic competitor analysis on focus areas to support improvements in targeted areas.
Qualifications:
- Highly proficient with spreadsheet and database software, practical application of accounting methods and processes, and familiar with standard accounting software.
- Ability to plan/organize/delegate work, communicate effectively, analyze, and solve problems, give constructive feedback and praise, create alignment, and adapt.
- Competencies typically acquired through a bachelor`s degree in accounting or related field along with 8-10 years of relevant auditing, accounting, financial analysis, and litigation experience.
- CPA required; CFE highly preferred. CPCU or MBA credentials are highly preferred.
- Understanding of the legal process, including discovery, ADR, and testimonial procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of auditing, finance, and accounting theory and procedures.
- Strong foundation in economic and data analysis concepts and techniques.
