What Your Job Will Be Like
The Enterprise Enabling Solutions & Services Group, 9760, is looking for a dynamic individual to lead and manage Department 9766 Enterprise Classified Capabilities. Enterprise Enabling Solutions & Services 9760 serves Sandia by providing a variety of end user support services and endpoint engineering solutions for Sandia on behalf of the National Security Mission. We are seeking a forward-thinking IT leader who is technically curious, aware of industry trends, and has a reputation of leading teams to success. Because this department is frequently called upon to develop and deploy solutions in a short timeframe, the selected individual must have experience with leading and developing solutions using modern technology and processes.
Some of the primary responsibilities for the manager of this department include:
- Mac and Mobility unclassified environments (Apple computers, iPhones, and iPads)
- SPN/ESN PKI management
- Classified helpdesk and desk-side support personnel
- Classified Computing Continual Service Improvement (3CSI) program management
- ISSOs/AISSOs assurance work for Sandia’s enterprise classified networks
- Classified virtual desktops (VDI)
- Configuration management and security for macOS and iOS
- Information System Owner (ISO) for Sandia’s Partner Network (SPN)
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Oversee and manage members of the workforce, within the organization, including hiring, professional development, and assessment and performance management, consistent with the mission of the organization
- Counsel and assist employees and management on government legislation, U.S. Department of Energy contract compliance, and Sandia National Laboratories' policies or procedures to ensure complianc
- Ensure that customer needs are satisfied through the creation of trust-based relationships
- Guide the work of the department
- Understand the work of the organization and connect the work and expertise of the organization with an understanding of the Labs’ needs
- Apply organization knowledge and experience to independently judge work quality, performance, and alignment of results with customer expectations
- Promote excellence by managing and coordinating specific deliverables, overall program and project plans, budgets, structures, schedules, and staffing requirements
This position is eligible for telecommuting and the selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.
Salary Range
$138,600 - $235,500
- Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance
- Included in the above; 4 years of leadership experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field plus 8 years of experience; or equivalent (MS + 4 years, AS + 12 years, or no degree + 16 years)
- Included in the above; 4 years of leadership experience
- Experience leading and executing enterprise IT projects, including classified capabilities
Qualifications We Desire
- Ability to use computer science principles dealing with complexity, scalability, robustness, integrity, correctness, and protocols. Familiarity with information system engineering, software engineering methodologies and processes using iterative/agile methodologies such as SCRUM, SAFe, Kanban, etc. Familiarity with macOS and iOS deployment and updates
- Verbal and written communication skills and customer service skills via technical and non-technical writing and presentations, including an ability to succinctly explain complex technical concepts. Demonstrated ability to translate technical terms to layperson's terms and present them to audiences outside of the organization
- Experience balancing risk management and mitigation with end user experience and productivity
- Technical business development experience with proven results in building trusted partnerships, both internal and external to Sandia
- Experience with the following Leadership competencies: Strategic Future Visioning, Develop Relationships with Business Partners and Peers, Team Building and Development, Deliver on Commitments, and Integrity and Accountability
- Strong teaming and interpersonal skills with demonstrated success working on multi-disciplinary teams as evidenced by substantive and positive references from current or past superiors, peers, or team members
- Experience and knowledge of operating systems, desktop management, cyber security requirements related unclassified and classified environments
About Our Team
Sandia’s classified networks provide robust computing functionality in a secure environment. Enterprise Classified Capabilities produces a united front for mission requirements and advanced technical solutions. Staff members are classified computing subject matter experts instrumental in ensuring the continuity of services and devising innovative strategy for future classified users. The Macintosh and Mobility Engineering teams located within 09766 provide advanced- level technical planning and architectural support for Sandia’s Mac and Mobility unclassified environments (Apple computers, iPhones, and iPads). This team develops, tests and deploys secure configurations for the operating systems and the supported applications used on these devices. They are also responsible for the systems used to monitor and manage devices to ensure they remain secure after deployment.

Security Clearance
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
