About Us


The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Racial Justice team s its within the o ffice of the CEO at Girl Scouts of the USA. The GSUSA DEIRJ Team aims to eliminate systemic barriers of participation within girl scouting so that every girl and Girl Scout feels included. T o deliver on this charge , the team works to provi de education and planning to integrate DEIRJ principles across the Girl Scout Movement. It works to strengthen the organization ’s capacity to live its mission and values by fostering an anti-racist, diverse, equitable, inclusive and a community of belonging internally at GSUSA as well as councils, volunteers, girl members, and board members.


You Will


This is a Hybrid Position with 2 days per week in the NYC office


Reporting directly to the VP, DEIRJ , the DEIRJ Manager is an integral member of the DEIRJ community. This position requires skillsets that includ e content curation, creative writing, p roject management, qualitative and quantitative analysis, strategic planning, cross-functional communications, training, and stakeholder management. It also requires skill at storytelling through data, influencing change. The ideal candidate is a person who can create, improve and maintain content, solves ambiguous problems, can synthesize multiple sources of information into clear insights and a cohesive vision, and can work effectively with stakeholders from across the Girl Scout Movement.


Essential Responsibilities


Strategy and Content Creation :


  • Design and pilot programs with ability to measure through metrics and other methods.
  • Develop training and coaching modules and informational sessions to internal and external stakeholders. Create and deliver educational programs for company leadership.
  • Collaborate in defining and designing the DEIRJ strategy and support in operationaliz ing throughout the organization
  • Curate and oversee material creation ; Review s and edit s DEIRJ content from a cross-community lens.
  • Bring DEIRJ subject matter expertise by contributing perspective, insights, and knowledge, and taking a balanced approach to enable the organization to integrate inclusion and diversity for Movement-wide success , while c ontinuously pursuing educational opportunities to remain current with evolving DEIRJ expertise.
  • Collaborate across GSUSA on DEIRJ content development.
  • Regularly measure and analyze, highlight areas of strength and opportunity, provide support to identify areas for continuous improvement. Define KPI’s by developing relevant metrics for Girl Scout DEI programs and processes, aligned with business and DEI objectives.


Program Management / Communications /Cross-functional Coordination


  • Clearly and concisely articulate ideas, concepts, and proposals to engage team, peers, and management through presentations, guides, and other communications tools
  • Act as a cross functional resource to ensure national DEI/RJ parameters and goals are being met.
  • Employ vetted project management tools to manage implementation activities, and develop processes, documentation and communications for program/process rollout and ongoing support.
  • Build relationships with leaders at GSUSA and across the 111 councils to develop a deep understanding of the Movement and increase awareness and understanding of DEI/RJ as a critical imperative and drive relevant initiatives.

Required Competencies


  • Excellent f acilitation, presentation, negotiations, training, and influencing skills
  • Excellent written , presentation, and verbal communication skills, including communicating complex information with clarity to diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated expertise in content curation and creation.
  • Creative problem-solver and consensus-builder who can deftly manage competing expectations and creatively uses resources to deliver
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and proven experience in program management
  • Knows how to synthesize input from stakeholders, regional organizations, and industry experts
  • Communication experience exhibited at all levels within an organization
  • Minimum of (5) years of DEI in a corporate , large non-profit , or similar experience .
  • Demonstrated understanding of industry benchmarks, legislation, leading practices, and/or innovations in DEI/RJ
  • Knows how to manage multiple priorities


Required Technical Skills


Office 365 or similar suites


Competency in PowerPoint or similar presentation software


Competency in Micro soft Excel or similar software

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a professional office environment.


POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday with a 35 hour per week schedule. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

SALARY RANGE: $61,900 - $117,300
