Description
Reporting directly to the Vice President Growth & Strategic Planning, the Commercial Planning Manager, is responsible for planning, communicating, and tracking commercial process deliverables and milestones across internal and external commercial stakeholders. This position requires a working knowledge of the retail environment, DSD RTM/Bottlers, and the consumer/shopper landscape, with a demonstrated acumen in managing complex projects across multiple stakeholders, driving commercial planning initiatives, and enhancing internal/external customer relationships.
The Commercial Planning Manager is a critical conduit in collaborating across internal/external commercial teams and departments that include marketing, sales, operations, and finance to ensure successful planning and communication of Commercial programs. The goal is to drive the CELSIUS brand portfolio’s look of success in the market and elevate our partnership with our RTM strategic partner PBNA. This role requires strong project management skills, ability to influence, and capability to navigate cross-functionally at all levels.
You are a creative and forward-looking strategist and planner that will play a meaningful role in evolving our business and driving commercial success. You will develop go-to-market and strategic plans with our internal stakeholders and distribution partners, focused on building revenue and margin, and increasing market share. You bring excellent quantitative, analytical, and critical thinking skills and an ability to translate metrics, research, and trends into viable strategic plans.
Responsibilities
- Budget Management: Lead components of annual operating budget plans and corresponding management presentations including outlining key components of strategic initiatives, researching alternatives, developing estimates, and coordinating inputs from functional areas.
- Performance Monitoring: Analyze syndicated and financial data to support and develop commercial strategic plans. Research, coordinate, and prepare operational updates and business plans that support the business strategy and objectives.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Support leadership team in developing and communicating strategic plans, including executive and management presentations. Build relationships across the business to drive commitment and implement innovation and transformation activities related to commercial strategy and new business models.
- Commercial Insights: Generate insights from internal analytics and financial economics and research of commercial and technology development within the industry to initiate commercial strategy development activities.
- Team Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborate with the broader commercial team and commercial sales and operations teams to ensure the execution of key brand initiatives into channel commercial plans and Looks of Success.
- Commercial Alignment: Be a catalyst in elevating the strategic partnership between Celsius and PBNA Commercial Operating Team stakeholders through planning, framing, and communicating the annual commercial AOP plans.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of short and long-term strategic plans for commercial strategy, and new business development, from a product portfolio and market opportunity perspective.
Qualifications
- Leadership abilities to guide and motivate a team of cross-functional professionals.
- Strong knowledge of commercial planning principles, strategies, and tactics.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with internal teams, external partners, and bottlers.
- Must have sales and/or marketing experience.
- Proficiency in market data analysis, and performance measurement.
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in commercial planning, channel strategy or marketing roles within the food and beverage industry, with a specific focus on program planning and activations.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Excellent understanding of consumer and shopper behavior, retail marketplace dynamics, and program management experience applicable to the food and beverage industry.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute commercial and channel strategies specifically.
- Result-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes.
