MANAGER, ACCOUNTS PAYABLE (JOB ID: 63573)

E
ssential Functions and Objectives:

M
anage the Accounts Payable department to ensure all payments are paid accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Develop and monitor metrics, reporting and the performance of the AP department.
  • Collaborate with schools and departments to ensure they are updated on current practices.
  • Vendor file maintenance for accuracy of 1099 and PERA reporting and coordination of filing process with the IRS/PERA.
  • Manage the vendor statement reconciliation process, vendor terms and aging.
  • Manage weekly pay cycles.
  • Manage month-end and Year-end close cycles.
  • Provide staff with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems (dispute management).
  • Provide leadership for the design, development and implementation of streamlined processes and best practices for the Accounts Payable Department.
  • Responsible for oversight of the AP processes, procedures and team, including but not limited to compliance with purchasing policies, payment terms and exception management.

nowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to develop and interpret data and manage resources.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to lead a high-performing team.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts, negotiate with others handling complaints, settle disputes and resolve grievances and conflicts.
  • High degree of integrity in handling confidential information.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of management experience.
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle management of several high-priority projects in parallel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detailed and accurate knowledge of current organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards, preferred.
  • Ability to motivate and influence others.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Strong organizational and analytic skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Self-starter/leader who can anticipate department needs in a proactive (versus, reactive) manner.
  • Minimum of three (3) years Accounts Payable experience.

E
ducation Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but experience will be considered in lieu of education.
