What You’ll do
Primary role for Accounts Payable in the US, processing supplier invoices and payments and supporting the Business where required. The role will be in our Denver office. Undertake business partnerships relations to review existing processes and work together to improve day to day processes, communications and efficiencies. Work with the global Transaction Team to share best practice and increase understanding of all regions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE
- Resolve any payment queries with suppliers
- Process any ad hoc payment requests ensuring correct approval has been obtained
- Support the Business during the processing of Purchase Orders (POs), ensure POs are receipted and any discrepancies are dealt with
- Produce and maintain regular reports on aged creditors and PO status
- Process multi-currency payment runs for suppliers and staff expenses in accordance with the payments calendar
- Review all staff expenses for US employees, ensuring they are completed correctly and comply with the Staff Expenses Policy
- Setting up new suppliers in the Finance System
- Process all invoices in a timely manner and ensure coding is correct at the time of entry
- Perform vendor call backs to confirm the validity of supplier bank details
- Reconcile creditor accounts and maintain a tidy and up to date ledger
- Support the preparation of regular bank reconciliations for all US bank accounts
- Post all bank transactions in a timely manner
- Assist the Banking Administrator in maintaining bank accounts and opening / closing bank accounts as required
- Train and support new finance system users as required. For example, processing POs and submitting staff expenses
- Support any group finance system or process development initiatives
- Deal with queries raised promptly and professionally
- Review the email inbox and action as appropriate
- Manage priorities and deadlines effectively to ensure an efficient working process
- Assist the Finance Team and the UK Transactions team when required, for example at month end or during periods of absence
- Open the Finance post and distribute as appropriate
- Assist in evaluating procedures and controls to ensure transactions are processed accurately and efficiently
Who we’re looking for
Mandatory/Required
- Strong communicator with good interpersonal skills
- Good understanding of local transactional tax requirements
- Proactive with a positive can-do attitude
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience of managing payment runs in several entities
- Accounts payable experience minimum 2 years
- Excellent time management skills
- Experience of performing reconciliations
- Experience with SAP S/4 Hana
- Experience with SunSystems and Proactis
- Experience with Concur

- US team members receive a monthly personal phone bill reimbursement of up to $100 and a monthly commuter benefit of up to $150. Team members also receive one-time wellness and remote work allowances
- Lightsource bp currently observes the following 11 holidays in the US: New Years Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
