Job Description

As the Learning & Wellness Director, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing a comprehensive experiential learning and development program that empowers our community to embody our core values of Belonging, Dignity, Justice, and Joy. Through this program, you will foster a highly effective and balanced organization, supporting our employees and volunteers at every stage of their journey. Leading a dedicated team, you will collaborate with key stakeholders and partners to align and enhance existing learning efforts, creating an engaging and transformative experience.
Responsibilities
Develop an Organization-Wide Learning & Development Strategy:
Design and implement a strategic plan to provide skill-building and learning opportunities for staff and volunteers, promoting our organizational values and ensuring their growth and success.
Create a comprehensive program that addresses various stages of engagement, including onboarding, annual performance reviews, and leadership development.
Integrate virtual and live learning engagements, leveraging our online learning management system and utilizing diverse training tools and techniques.
Lead Immersive Learning EcoSystem Development
Collaborate with key staff and volunteers to implement the learning and development strategy, grounded in the principles of Belonging, Dignity, Justice, and Joy.
Develop core competencies and curriculum applicable to different audiences, offering foundational and specialized training tailored to their needs.
Ensure flexibility to address emerging training requirements while complying with legal mandates.
Measure Effectiveness And Impact
Develop a holistic learning program inclusive of assessment, design, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up.
Assess stakeholder needs and organizational trends to deliver targeted training and track practice change and learning outcomes.
Provide reports to leadership on program goals and outcomes, incorporating participant feedback to continually improve the learning experience.
Build And Manage Learning & Development Team
Maximize existing resources and make strategic hires to establish a dedicated team.
Oversee team members' work plans, mentorship, coaching, and professional development.
Foster a joyful work environment, making hiring, salary, promotion, and termination decisions when necessary.
Provide Advice And Guidance On Targeted Learning
Serve as an internal subject matter expert, offering guidance to stakeholders on learning and development activities.
Align chapter, department, and volunteer learning initiatives with organizational strategy, standards of conduct, and policy compliance.
Establish a process to review and approve external training contracts, ensuring they align with organizational values.
Qualifications
Extensive experience in Learning and Development and People relations fields, including leadership of large-scale training programs.
Advanced skills in training facilitation and curriculum design, with a willingness to embrace the principles of Belonging, Dignity, Justice, and Joy.
Proven track record in developing and delivering lifecycle learning content for employees and volunteers, covering onboarding, performance, leadership, and legally mandated workplace training.
Creative and impactful approach to adult learning activities, both in-person and online, resulting in measurable practice and culture change.
Strategic vision and demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to design foundational learning programs and drive organizational change.
Strong project management skills with experience managing complex projects from start to finish, adapting to evolving conditions.
Previous experience managing teams, with exceptional interpersonal skills, including coaching, conflict resolution, and relationship-building across differences.
Commitment to continuous growth, including a willingness to deepen understanding of systems of oppression and to examine and adjust personal behaviors.
Positive and uplifting mindset, with the ability to inspire and collaborate with others, approaching challenges with humor, kindness, and a constructive attitude.
Compensation And Benefits
Salary Range: $155,000 - $165,000 per year.
Remote work position with travel required.
