Position Summary
The Loan Officer plays a crucial role in our mission by identifying and cultivating loan prospects within a specific market for various loan programs. The ideal candidate will establish a robust business referral network with banks and support organizations, position themselves as a valuable resource for small business and economic development professionals, and consistently generate leads for loan pre-qualification. Compensation includes a base salary with incentive bonuses based on the successful delivery of prequalified loans to the loan production team and the ultimate funding of loans from the generated pipeline.
Preferred candidates should reside in Alameda or Contra Costa counties.
Essential Responsibilities
Market and promote our business services to centers of influence (COIs), banks, non-bank lenders, small business support organizations, networking groups, government agencies, and other entities that can connect entrepreneurs in need of credit.
Create opportunities for speaking engagements that generate loan leads and expand the loan referral network in the assigned territory.
Represent the organization at relevant business and industry events.
Review basic financial data, such as tax returns and financial statements, to pre-qualify and evaluate loan applications for eligibility and creditworthiness, utilizing our credit guidelines and spreadsheet tools.
Professional Skills, Education, And Experience
A Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics, finance, or a related field from a recognized college or university, or equivalent qualifying experience in sales.
Minimum of 1-2 years of sales experience, preferably in financial products or services.
General knowledge of commercial or small business credit, ideally in a mission-based or SBA loan department.
Established market connections and a network of business contacts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Exceptional sales techniques and presentation skills, with the ability to educate key audiences about various lending programs and the advantages of partnering with us.
Proven track record of prospecting new businesses and developing referral networks.
Possession of a valid Driver's License.
