Job Description


The Learning Catalog Manager is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing a range of programs, projects, and other work within the catalog with the goal of allocating resources to the activities that align best with current and future needs and will generate the highest business value. The Catalog Manager also provides advice, assistance, and leadership to improve the quality of project results.


They may also manage one or more unrelated projects within agreed parameters of cost, times, and quality to meet identified business needs. Typically, such assignments would be of lower priority than the main catalog management duties, perhaps undertaken to cover a resourcing gap.

Specific Areas Of Responsibility Include


Catalog Management Tasks:


  • Create business cases, identifying the business impact, the probability of satisfying business needs, the anticipated business benefits, and the risks and consequences of failure.
  • Monitor staff deployment to ensure individuals are effectively contributing to the organization while developing skills and gaining experience.
  • Lead the vision, execution, maintenance, and quality assurance for projects and programs within assigned catalog(s).
  • Report catalog progress and performance to senior leadership with specific emphasis on business objectives delivery, efficient resource deployment, effective risk and issue management, catalog volatility with respect to scope and quality changes, and process improvements.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive annual catalog milestone plan, based on the current plans of each constituent Product Manager.
  • Contribute extensively to the annual portfolio planning and budgetary process.
  • Monitor overall catalog progress, with particular focus on budgets, key milestones, resources, and dependencies.


Consultancy Tasks


  • Identify and plan systematic corrective action to reduce errors and improve the quality of the projects through root cause examination.
  • Measure, review, and audit projects and program management to ensure conformance to organization standards.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and recommend strategic steps to capitalize on opportunities that will have a positive impact on the function.
  • Direct and lead significant improvement programs, taking responsibility for the quality and appropriateness of the work performed.
  • Ensure new methods and tools are adopted by end users.
  • Work with key business stakeholders to oversee and prioritize business work requests and resolve business partners’ concerns.


Required


  • Exhibits strategic leadership skills in a wide variety of contexts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, planning, communication, and presentation skills.
  • 3 years of relevant learning and development experience.
  • Able to analyze and effectively communicate the benefits and risks inherent in their catalog decisions.
  • 3 years of relevant project management experience.
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, or currently in pursuit of degree completion, or equivalent relevant work.
  • Builds and sustains effective relationships at all levels, particularly with business partners.
  • 6 years of relevant portfolio and product lifecycle management experience.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Budget management experience.
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • International experience.

Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.


Expected Salary Range


$97,680.00 - $153,700.00
