Job Description

Position Overview:

The Bids Coordinator is responsible for completing/processing all bid documentation and coordinating bid contracts from Schools and RFQ quotes to Distributors. In this role, you will interact with brokers and our sales team to understand competitive pricing, identify opportunities, and address issues.


Essential Responsibilities:



  • Collate bid awards in order to assist our regionals and brokers to forecast school year menus and production volumes.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret bids, contracts, and quotes; understand awarded bid sheet.
  • Identify, solicit and qualify request for proposals (RFPs) for commercial and commodity K-12 USDA food items
  • Record all special pricing and maintain bid price list changes.
  • Process all Direct Bids and request for quotes (RFQs), assist in distributor bids.
  • Preferred candidate to manage third party commodity tracking website as well as various reports needed for USDA commodities.
  • Identifying key product differentiators in order to better serve our customers.
  • Manage SPA paperwork submission for states.
  • Establish open communication with regional sales managers, brokers and customers for questions and problem-solving.
  • Manage the current database to store and track bid performance.
  • Proven ability to interact with brokers and regionals to understand competitive pricing and identify opportunities.



Qualifications:



  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate efforts to achieve results.
  • 3-5 years extensive K12 bid experience with a manufacturer or national broker
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to operate in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Attention to detail and managing a bid calendar
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, Excel a must.
  • Flexibility in the face of rapidly changing circumstances.
