The Automated Digital Network System (ADNS) is an Acquisition Category II spiral development program that incorporates and adapts a variety of Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government-Off-the-Shelf hardware and software. ADNS is the Tactical Internet Protocol (IP) Routing and Switching system for all Wide Area Network IP Services which connect afloat units to the various global shore sites. It provides ship and shore IP connectivity and promotes the efficient use of available satellite and line of site communications bandwidth. SOLUTE, a Sigma Defense Company is seeking a self-directed and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Junior Network Engineer to help engage in converging all voice, video, data communications between ship and shore. The primary duties and responsibilities for this position, minimum required skills, and additional requested qualifications and experience are listed below.
Requirements

• Minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience in DoD or other Government Unclassified and Classified Systems/Networks.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Network Engineering.
• Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to ensure optimum productivity.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite Products, and PC hardware architecture.
• Effective Testing and troubleshooting skills.
• An understanding of the use and configuration of encryption devices (KG-175D, KG-175F, KG-175GM)
• Must be able to work on-site in San Diego, CA USA.
• Ability to work collaboratively, independently, and to take initiative.
• An understanding of network security best practices
• Ability to work independently with little to no supervision on assigned tasks.
• Ability to work with Network related hardware and software.
• A minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience with Cisco Routing and Switching, Network Engineering, and Network Testing and Implementation planning.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience with Cisco configuration of OSPF and static routing, mGRE Tunnel, QOS, DHCP, ACLs, IPSec (as implemented with HAIPE devices.)
• Network Engineering experience with ADNS, CANES, or CaaS Is preferred.
• Ability to conduct testing and regression testing on Government facilities.
• Ability to quickly grasp and implement technical concepts.
• Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing, with managers, supervisor, peers, and customers.
• Ability to work collaboratively, independently, and to take initiative.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to conduct research on Cisco or other related Network hardware components.

Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):

• Individual shall provide engineering change support to the In-Service Engineering Activity team via on-site services on equipment/systems to perform Cisco based troubleshooting, identification of root cause and correction of other system specific faults and failures.
• Maintain port security on all network devices and coordinate with local lab system administrators with deployment of new computers, VoIP, dVTC and sVTC devices.
• Individual to assist with development and modernization of Government systems, sub-systems and components through engineering integrations.
• Configure and maintain TACLANE (KG175 series) devices. Configurations include network configuration, peer routes and keying devices.
• Liaison with local and Chief Engineers on testing and integration plans via Naval Fleet requirements.
• Individual to support improvement of WAN/LAN posture be leading Architecture research and design in support of current and future Naval requirements.
• Liaison with local lab managers and system administrators on the installation of the RDT&E network to include hardware purchase, baseline configuration, local system administration responsibilities and duties to maintain system compliance.
• Individual shall participate in numerous Network integration and testing support events within Government test facilities in support of system interoperability.
• Configure and maintain Palo Alto (PA-850) firewalls. Configurations include network configurations (V-wire, Layer-3 etc.), creation and maintenance of objects, zones and policy rules.
• Individual shall perform technical document reviews and participate in technical working groups.
• Configure Cisco C3850 and C9300 series switches. Configurations include Layer-2 and Layer-3 switch configurations.
• Individual to assist with development and modernization of Government Networks via Software defined capability or similar engineering integrations.
• Ability to work well with other Engineering focus groups and personnel ranging from Junior to Chief Network, Systems, or Cyber Engineers.

Personnel Clearance Level:

• Candidate must possess an active, DoD issued Secret security clearance.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in the following disciplines: Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field of study.

Certifications:

• DoD 8570 IAT Level II, CompTIA Network+, Security+, Linux+, CCNA, CCNP (preferred)
• Hold active CompTIA Security+ or CCNA Security, or higher certification.
• Hold active Cisco CCNA certification, or equivalent level of vendor certifications.
• Hold active Cisco CCNP certifications or willing to obtain.

Software/Programs Experience:

• NMCI, RDT&E, SPIRINT, Cisco Modeling Labs, JIRA, Linux, Confluence, Microsoft Office Suite

Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 annually.
